Romanian Air Force tour 2015
Introduction The small but potent Romanian Air Force (Forţele Aeriene Române) is a very interesting subject to aviation enthusiasts because of their former Soviet influences. The combination of East and West is clearly visible in their equipment and structure. I had the opportunity to witness the Air Force and the well organised and motivated men and women first hand, and was amazed by their professional dedication. Although many of the hardware has fallen into the hands of the defence budget cuts, the older airframes hold the cutting edge technology. The MiG-21 LanceR C is proven to be a major asset to the NATO allies and wil keep on flying for some more years, soon side by side with the newly acquired F-16's.
